Rams Head Onstage is a dinner theatre styled venue which holds an intimate sized crowd thus creating a VH-1 “Story Tellers” styled atmosphere.
Lita Ford performed to a nearly sold out crowd and her between song banter was personal and telling due to the closeness of the room.
Opening with “Gotta Let Go”, Lita took the stage sporting a red leather jumpsuit and looking as if she had came directly from her prime years.
Vocally you could hear just a touch of wear in Lita’s voice and she addressed the matter by telling the crowd she had been performing non-stop and was looking forward to a much needed break for a few days. The overall sound of the show was superb; the drums were intense, the bass was punchy, and the guitar tone was strong.
Lita told the crowd that she received Elton John’s personal blessing in regards to her cover of “The Bitch Is Back” and before performing “Can’t Catch Me” she told the story of how Lemmy co-wrote the song with her.
“Back To The Cave” featured a guitar jam and mini cover of “Miss You” by The Rolling Stones.
Lita addressed her absence in the music world and explained that she took time off to raise her kids; she also admitted that she was not a fan of the grunge movement and felt like it was best for her to go away at that time.
For the song “Cherry Bomb” Lita brought out the original Runaways Black Hamer “Explorer” guitar and told a story about Cheap Trick in reference to the guitar.
“Close My Eyes Forever” featured Patrick Kennison on vocals and before the song started Lita told the story of how her double neck guitar was built just for her and a one of a kind guitar.
“Kiss Me Deadly” was the nights closer and a perfect way to end an amazing night of rock n roll.
